Outline planning approval was successfully achieved for a single storey dwelling located within a large residential garden plot. The application was submitted to Carlisle City Council. This was supported by an indicative layout plan which showed how the site could be developed and adhere to council's planning policies, in particular the policies relating to separation distances between the development and existing residential dwellings.
The site is located on the edge of a rural village, but is well-related to other surrounding development and uses. The proposal provided an opportunity to deliver a single storey dwelling on a site which is within a village, has a number of services and is considered sustainable.
